What is breast lift surgery?
Breast lift surgery (also known as mastopexy) is a procedure to lift the breasts to improve the overall contour. Empty, sagging breasts can affect any woman but breast lifting is most commonly requested by those who have had children or experienced weight loss. A Breast Lift can also be combined with breast implants if extra volume is also required. Our goal is to help improve your breasts and hopefully your self-confidence by lifting, contouring and enhancing!

Surgery Day
Your procedure will be performed as day surgery under general anesthetic in an accredited, licensed hospital. The breast lift surgery itself takes about two hours. You will spend typically a couple of hours under close supervision in the recovery area before being discharged. You will need a responsible adult to take you home and stay with you for the first night.

Risks: Breast lift, like any surgical procedure, carries certain risks that individuals should be aware of before making a decision.
Common risks associated with breast lift include infection, bleeding, adverse reaction to anaesthesia, scarring, changes in nipple or breast sensation, asymmetry, dissatisfaction with the aesthetic outcome, and the need for future revision surgeries. Breastfeeding is usually possible after a breast lift, but some individuals might experience difficulties in producing sufficient milk.
If you are having a lift with implants – complications specific to breast implants such as rupture, rippling, or capsular contracture (scar tissue formation around the implant) are also possible. Recent news has highlighted a potential association between textured breast implants and Anaplastic Large-Cell Lymphoma (ALCL).
It is crucial to consult with an appropriately qualified doctor / surgeon, thoroughly discuss all the potential risks, and carefully weigh the benefits against the risks to make an informed decision.
What’s the difference between breast augmentation and breast lift?
Breast augmentation and breast lift are two separate cosmetic procedures that target different concerns related to the breasts but can also be combined if necessary. Breast augmentation aims to enhance breast size and shape with the use of implants, while a breast lift aims to raise the breast position by removing excess skin and reshaping the breast tissue. The choice between these procedures depends on your anatomy and individual goals. Read here to help determine if you need a breast lift and talk to MINKST to help you decide which option, including a combination of both is most suitable for your specific needs.
How is a breast lift done?
A breast lift procedure involves removing excess skin, tightening surrounding tissue, and repositioning the nipple to a higher position on the breast. The surgeon will make incisions around the areola, sometimes extending vertically down the breast crease or horizontally along the crease, depending on the degree of lift needed. Through these incisions, they reshape the breast tissue and remove excess skin before closing the incisions. The result is lifted, perkier breasts with improved contour and symmetry.
Will I be able to breastfeed after a breast lift?
Whether you can breastfeed after a breast lift depends on several factors, including the type of breast lift performed and how much tissue was manipulated during surgery.
In most cases, women who have had a breast lift are still able to breastfeed. However, there is always a chance that milk production or milk flow could be affected.
