Even before your surgery consultation with your MINKST surgeon, our expert team will inform and guide you. We will ensure you are prepared and ready to get most out of your consultation.
Pre Surgery Consultation with your MINKST surgeon
At this consultation your MINKST surgeon will listen to what you want to achieve and develop with you a personalised operation plan including:
The reasons you want to have this surgery and outcome you would like to achieve
– Implants or no implants
– Incision planning
– Scar minimisation
– Your surgeon will also ensure you have a clear understanding of the risk of breast fat transfers. If you are considering breast implants as well your surgeon will explain the risks and benefits of staging the procedures or doing both at the same time.
Surgery Day
Your procedure will be performed as day surgery under general anaesthetic in an accredited, licensed hospital. The surgery itself takes between 2 – 3 hours. You will spend typically a couple of hours under close supervision in the recovery area before being discharged. You will need a responsible adult to take you home and stay with you for the first night.
Post Surgery
You will have your surgeon’s mobile phone number in case you need them and the MINKST nurse will regularly be in touch to ensure everything is running smoothly. We will have arranged your first post operative check up with your surgeon before you leave the hospital.
Why choose MINKST for your surgery?
Breast fat transfer augmentation, with or without implants, is a day procedure with no need for an overnight stay. If you are not a local and cannot travel home, we have options for you.
Every patient is different but generally breast fat transfer patients experience mild to moderate pain during their recovery. Medication will be prescribed in case you need it. Approximately a week after surgery most patients can return to work. If you have a physical job you may need longer.
During the first few weeks some swelling and bruising will be present whilst the tissue is healing. This initially feels quite firm but gradually softens. Another consequence of the swelling is that it artificially lifts the breasts more than the planned amount, so you should expect some settling to a more natural result over the first few months.
